1:10 Welcome to this week's edition of sr TU lots to discuss Doctor Trey. Let's start it off with NXT No Mercy recap in review was this past Saturday from the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Uh the pre show match here at Blair Davenport defeating Colonnie Jordan. We did not predict this one. Colonie Jordan looked good. Blair continues the uh the storyline with Gigi Dolan. They carried over to Tuesday's an XCTV. Anything to say here about the pre show match. I didn't know who Colonie Jordan was so good performance from subody to who was? But oh I thought it was. It was an okay endeavor. Uh. Nothing really outside of the continuing storyline with Blair and gg nothing really. It's right Homan out about I do say, I do not like the name Klan because you had a C to the end of her name.

2:04 It's kind of gross. Yeah, no, true, yes it is. It all sounds like a drink. Hey, she's very impressive. She's in the Breakout Tournament. I'm a fan of Klonnie Jordan. If you've not had a chance to check her out in the ring, there is a lot of upside there. Onto the main show, Baron Corben defeats braun Breaker. We both had broun Breaker again the victory. This is a good physical match. Braun Breaker is definitely getting better in the ring, and I liked how they have been booking braun as someone who could come back for being slammed on a car or throw an announced table. The interference of mister Stelle makes sense. It helped cost Breaker the loss, which didn't affect Braun's character negativity at all, and Baron Corman got a nice win. Your thoughts here, Corbyn defeats Breaker. It reminds me a little bit when Goldberg was a heel for that little bit time, and not in a bad way. Just even in a loss, he can still look like a legitimate monster slash badass. So it's good for Braun. It's good for Baron to get a win kind of, you know, at least give him a shot when people see him in a match, like, give him a little bit of credibility that he actually wins something. So I thought it was pretty good for both guys, and once again tied into tight end with the von Wagner stuff. So I'm also still confused. I don't know who's supposed to be rooting for in all these fair it is, yeah, two heels, And I felt the same way on Tuesday's NXT when Baron Klebern was still acting like a jackass, as was bron Breaker. It's like, how do the fans cheer on a heel versus heel? Match, and Vaughn is also a heel, so there's a street heel. He's been more of a babyface lately, he has been. He's been accepting the fan base with his with his storyline, with his medical condition

3:38 upbringing, but he's been more of the babyface. I hope Braun and Vaughn become a tag team at some point, just because the rhyming of it would be so much fun. Yeah, that would be cool. It would be like an eighties or early nineties tag team. Trick Williams defeats Dirty Domsteria to win the NX North American champion with a Dirty Dom getting the victory. Surprising result of Dirty Dom dropping NX North American Championship to Trick Williams, who was originally not supposed to be in this match, but the change was made after Mustafa Ali the original opponent match was shocking the release. I was happy for Trick, who had some good momentum as of late and his in ring competitiveness has really improved. However, as we learned, he dropped the championship on Tuesdays NXC to Dirty Dom. Your thoughts on the NXC No Mercy match as well as the matter took place on Tuesdays NXC Doctor Try. I was happy for Trick, but I don't like the hot shotting of the title. It's almost like they they did it just to give him a little bit of credibility, because really, for the majority of his running XST Trick has not looked great. And it gave a little credence to the reports that they were making Rea the official leader of Judgment Day. So you know, I was happy for me that regard, but then it's around and take the belt right back off. I almost feel like this is just they were like, hey, we had Mustafa book to win, so let's go with that and then we'll just figure it out after this. It was a good match and really enjoyable.

5:01 It was, and I popped really hard for a way to when Trick won. But to turn around to take the belt right back off them, I thought was kind of U was kind of low. Yeah, it was interesting and interesting and peculiar move by by NX Creative. It makes you think if there if this adds to the Carmelo Trick storyline. I don't know. It's strange if they're concerned about ratings with Tuesday's aw NXC head to head. I don't know. Strange move there. The D'Angelo family defeats OTM, the Creed Brothers in Amberta Career, and Angel Guards in a fatal four way match to retain the NXC Tag Team Championship. We both had the di Angelo family winning a good fatal four way match. Not sure I feel about the injury angle from Tony d though the finish also came out of nowhere, as there was little bill or acknowledgment of their finisher for the win. The d' angelo family retains Doctor Trey. Yeah, I thought it was okay, but you know, like you rustling points there, I'm still trying to figure out what out the mud means. Were they pigs in a past life? I don't.

6:00 I don't really get it, but I'm sure at some point they'll do it. Vig Yet explained a little bit more. But uh, I saw those guys, they're they're big dudes, Like they're way bigger than I thought they were. So, you know, it just kind of led some more depth to the tag ting division. But seeing the di' angelo family come out on top just give them a little more credibility as well. So I thought it was Okay, just the finish was odd. That injury angle. We've been there, kind of done that. I hope it's I hope it's not legit because I like Tony D. But you know, if it is storyline, why because Tony D has been in jail and injured and everything else. Like it is two years at NXC. Next match is no Am Dar defeating Butch to retaining NXC Heritage Cup. We both at Butcherkin and the victory.

6:44 I like the concept of the Heritage Cup and the British rounds rule matches, but I'm not sure how it's playing out in front of the live crowd. The last several times they've done these matches, it's been met with the response. With that said, this match was good to know. I'm Dar has been fantastic. So it's coming back to NXC and the United States earlier that year. Obviously, we we got to see Butch stick around a little bit longer as he and Tyler Bait did take on Gallas on Tuesday's NXT, who interfered in this match. No Mdar retains the NX Heritage Cup. Doctor try. Yeah. It reminds me of when Impact had their their their Championship there there was that that weird title they had kind yeah talking about they had judges and everything. Yeah, and you would have like Lastly and McIntyre in a match and the crowd just be like, we don't know what's going on, and you and I talked about this back way x UK was going on that although the in ring work is fantastic, it is kind of a scoring mentality as well. It's just kind of like it's just, you know, it's hard to have a consistent match when you have breaks. It's weird. It's it's hard to build up that anxiety over what's going to happen next. So it's I think the I think every time there's a pinfall or that, the crowd loses a little bit of interest in a way. So it's a just of your I know, friends of mine from the UK loved the concept because it's very very old school and traditional and they're in their realm. But for Americans, we typically don't like adjustments unless you're gonna give us some more crashes basically, So uh, it's just it's I think people just have to get

8:16 used to it, because I mean, really the titles liman feature on NXC television on the in the States now for about nine months, so it's not even a year old in the eyes of the w B famous next match here is Elily dragon Off defeating Carmelo Hayes to win the NXC Championsip Eyed Elia Doctor Trade Carmelo. Great physical match. I thought this was the right move because Ely is a main event player in NXT and could not afford another loss for the title. It also adds to Carmelo and not being able to win without Trick and leave Bakersfield without the championship while Trick had a title of his own previously. I would love to see Carmelo Elia three happen in the near future, and the rivalry slast matches reminds me of the Black and Gold era of NXC. Really enjoyable match here, Doctor Trey Eliot Dragonoff is your new NXC champion. Ilia Dragonov is so polarizing to me because I love Ilia Dragonov.

9:05 But in my head I'm like, it's great for Este, but then is he a main car main event guy? I mean he is like one hundred and eighty pounds. He's like the Russian Darby Allen in a lot of ways. So uh the match himself, that was fantastic. I really enjoyed it. I love, like I said, I love watching Ilia wrestle because everything he does has intensity and purpose. Carmelo's just so smooth. There's a nice contract contrast and styles and if they have matched three, I'm all for it. I just long term, does Ilia like to me, the NXT nx T should be helping build your main event stars, like the NFC Championship should be a priest cursor to being a main event star on Raw or SmackDown.

9:46 And I don't know if Ilia is a main event kind of guy for Raw or SmackDown. Yeah, I don't know either. I have been an Ilia fan for some time and I thought this was the right move, and they're given the opportunity with the ball to run with it. So he's the new NXC champ. We will see where things go from here with the Mad Dragon of NXT. Then the main event here, Becky Lynch defeats Tiffany Stratton in an extreme rules match to retain the NXC Women's Championship. I had Becky Lynch Doctor Trey at Tiffany Stratton a good match. Stratton continues to take big leaps forward in her inring abilities. I would have liked to see some more physicality, violence, toughness from Tiffany Stratton, like a llah Randy Orton from his match with Cactus Jack back in two thousand and three two thousand and four Backlash when he was breaking out, but it was still a solid performance. Becky is really helping Tiffany elevate her game, and Tiffany is delivering great match Doctor Trey Becky Lynch wins. Yeah. Sometimes I watch these matches and you go, wait, she hasn't been great against other people. Now she's wrestling like a legitimate main event star. Is she getting better or is the star carrier this one? I actually went, oh, she's actually getting better, so she's actually stepping her game up. I am still a little bit confused about the result, Like, what's the upside of keeping Becky as NFT champion unless he was trying to help her, unless she's just trying to help build everybody up and being But if she's still on the road with Raw, it's not like she gets the AEW or Impact schedule where she gets to kind of just

11:20 stay home after the shows. To me, this is also like let's say we're like, Okay, Tiffany needs back up. You know, Tiffany needs some you know, some some stooges, so to speak, and in her ranks, because when you have a match like this, this is the perfect opportunity for the heel to get the win and not damage a babyface. And they didn't pull the trigger, So good work by the ladies. Just a little confused by the booking results because this was the chance to kind of take the belts off of Becky, put it back on Tiffany, and give Tiffany legitimacy by saying, Hey, I'm the one who beat Becky Lynch, which nobody else on that roster could say. Addiction record, I went three and three, Doctor Trade, one and five. Coming out of this pay per view, I was nineteen thirty five Doctor Trey eighty five and forty event rating and match of the night. I gave NXC no Mercy a solid three point six. My match of the night was Carmela Hayes and Eely dragonoff Doctor Treyer.

12:16 What say you yeah? How was there a three point four? I thought it was a solid show. Still, like just you know, the Tony d thing was weird. I'm so a little confused by the trick Williams win. It was just kind of like it was an odd booking show for me. So maybe that's why I'm a little bit more down on it. But my match of the night was Ilia and Carmelo. Just those guys have great chemistry. It's kind of watching Drago and Apollo Creed fight, just without the death. I like that. That's a good comparison. It's a really good rivalry and they have really good matches. And again, like I said earlier on, it reminds me a lot of that black and Gold era of NXT where you want to see more from these two. Yeah, next night, aw Russell Dream Recap review Past Sunday from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washing. There was one, two, three, four pre show zero hour matches that we did not preview. Originally we did not predict either, So I'll just quickly mention them here, Doctor Trey, and if there's any that stood out to you that you want to cover, when I get done quickly recapping the results, we can talk about it because I have maybe one or two matches i'd bring up here. Sotoshi Kaji McKeith Lee Athena and Billy Starks defeated Shane Taylor, Lee Mariotti, Mercedes Martinez and Diamante. In an eight person tag team match, Claudieu Casignoli defeated Josh Barnett, Lucasaurus defeated Nick Wayne and the Acclaimed, and Billy Gunn defeated Shane Hast, Mikey Nichols and Bad Due Tito of the Mighty O'Neil TMDK to retain the aw World Trios Championship.

13:45 Any of those pre show matches you wanted to bring up here and discuss anything that stood out to you, Doctor Try all right, an eight person interjender match is god awful. Don't ever do it again. It just the flow, It just doesn't flow. The six man's hag. I really enjoyed that match. I forgot how entertaining Shane Thorne or Shane which is yes, I just forget how entertaining he was, Like, yeah, he can be kind of charismatic and and goofy at times. And I forgot how good TMDK is when they're attacked. Me adding big bad dude Teeter that makes it was really cool. I haven't seen them in such a I mean, god, this is what the early days of Black and Gold when they were a tag teams and see them together at wrestled Dream was pretty cool. And then the Lucasaurs Nick Wayne stuff is pretty interesting giving how the ending of the show went.

14:35 So those are the kind of things that might takeaways. Yeah, I guess the one match that you did not cover there in your little recap is I thought Claudia cast and only Josh Barnett was an extremely fun chain wrestling match. I would go out of your way. If you haven't, go out of your way and watch that one. If you enjoyed chain wrestling, check how Claudia and Josh Barnett. But the pre show matches, it's it's now an hour and a half pre show for aw show. I mean it's it's basically a dynamite it's taking place nowadays where you have like that many matches taking place before the show. Crazy thing for me was I had never seen Josh Barnett wrestle. Yeah, I hadn't either, and I enjoyed it. Yeah, And I had heard he was really good, and then you got Moxley on commentary putting him over and everything else. Like I thought that was actually the most enjoyable match on the pre show. It's just one of these was like, it was just a really good wrestling match, and with all the other things going on, it just you just kind of go, oh, yeah, it was a really good match. Just that one was weird.

15:30 This thing was weird, and this was weird. But that was a really good match. Yeah, I agree, that was a really good match on main card. Here, MJF representing better than You Bebey defeats the Righteous Vincent and Dutch to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship in a two to one one handicap match. We both had better than you beabey A getting the victory entertaining match. I hate to see this loss come at the expense of an actual tag team with high upside and the Righteous, but I feel like this payoff for the whole current MGF storyline will be worth it. I do find salce and knowing that Ossie Open loss last month at all and got rewarded a month later with an aw tag team champion match later in that same night, entertaining match doc to trace MJFF wins retains. Yeah, it was entertaining for the shenanigans in the match, like the matchic stuff. I'm like, I mean really there were points in the match where MJF Wight It's at John Cena mode. It was like super MJF. Maybe since I was I'm just a big fan of Dutch and Vincent in the Righteous. I just think those guys are are really talented guys. I just hate seeing a legitimate tag team lose in a two on one handicap match. And then just you know, I don't know, the body slam bit the head of the ass thing was kind of funny, but it's just I don't know, I would have wanted to finish, to be even more sneaky, like have him escape and he actually kind of I don't say, one clean, but one decisively. So that's maybe that's my only thing. Because especially I love MJF. He is only like five foot eight, so it's just like he's a little guy doing Super Senior, which is a little weird to me. Yeah, it was.

17:02 It's it's sports entertaining, right, Yeah, yeah, it was entertaining, but on a like you know, the aw preaches like on how their high quality of matches, but then they'll have the entertainment aspect too. It's like, Okay, are you wrestling or are you entertainment because MJF is entertainment and then the rest of the show is kind of wrestling. So I think there's a good I think there could be a good mix of that. To be honest, I thought this was a good way to open up the show with what they're doing. I just don't like seeing at the hands of an actual tag team. Yeah, they don't portray themselves as an entertainment company. They portray themselves as a wrestling company. So that's the dichotomy with it is like, Okay, jf's entertainment. It's funny because your top stars either entertaining guys or guys that came from the wrestling entertainment company. Well, you can make case they began with entertainment, ended with entertainment. There you go. Next match here, Eddie Kingston defeats Kati Orshabauta to retain the ROH World Championship and njp W Strong open Weight Championship. We both had Eddie Kingks again the victory solid Japanese style match fun watch between Kanks and Shabbata great win. Telpailled Eddie as the ROH World Champion. Kingston retains Actor Trey Yeah, and on was the end. I had not seen Shebata other than on tape of seeing Sabata in the ring. I know he's wrestling aw That's why he's a pure champion everything. I just somehow always missed him. Very various any match, very very hard hitting match. And it was also kid of the launch of how many abdominal stretch octopus holds can we get in one card in one night.

18:32 The next match is Chris Statlander defeating Julia Hart to retain the AWTBS Championship. We both had stat Lard again the victory. Stat Lander and Hart put on a great match. I said last week when we were previewing this, how much Julia Hart has improved in the ring, and it shows as I feel like she is breaking out right now. Julia Hart may also have the best top rope moonsalt in all of wrestling. Fun match here, Doctor Trey Statler Lander retains. Yeah. I watched this match, and I don't know if I do. I compare young wrestlers to other wrestlers, and Julia Hart I compared to Alexa Bliss because of the gymnastics background and similar build and similar skill set, and then Statlanders just is coming off more and more rear Ripley issue in a lot of ways, and so much as match and like this is actually pretty good and pretty compelly. The only thing I didn't like, like I thought the match was really great for an aw women's match, is they kept typing up Julia's twenty eight match win streak, and also the fact that stat Lander has been the person who's beating her the last several times. I just kind of thought Julie would get maybe a little bit more offense and and get a maybe a couple more near falls. It seem like the time that she had the most offense was when they were on the floor fighting. So that was my only takeaway from it. Like I just said, always Julie had a little bit more offense to kind of create that threat. But for a women's match with two very young women's wrestlers, was really really good.

19:56 Yeah, it was a fun one. It was a really fun one. And it's not a match that I figured would be on my radar as a match that would surprised me, and it did. Statlander and Julie Hart was a lot of a lot of fun. Next match was the Young Bucks defeated the Guns Luca Brothers and Orange Cassidy and Hook in a four way tag team match to win a future AW World Tag Team CHAMPIONI match. I had Orange, Cassidy and Hook, Doctor Trey had the Guns. Good match. I just think it would have been nice to see another tag team not named the Young Bucks in in an AW Tach Team Championship match. But it looks like AW wants up another FTR Bucks match again soon, Doctor Tray the Bucks are the NORM one contenders again. Yeah, I mean this was a fun match, you know, got I mean, other than the Ray Phoenix injury, Like, it was really really, you know, pretty irritating. I'm a huge Guns fan, like those guys have I have won may over. I mean, they are literally trying to be all four members all like all five members of d X at one time. So I gotta get those guys credit.

20:49 But I mean me, I would have held off on, you know, setting up Bucks FTR four maybe a little bit longer out the Guns still have unfinished business with him. You could have gone loot your bros as well, But I mean I can't really go wrong with FTR and the Bucks just because everybody's continue to watch because they know that it's gonna be a damn good match. Next match is Swerve Strickland defeating Hangman Adam Page. I had Swerved had Hangman, great match. I've been so happy for the building success of Sturve Strickland since coming over to AW. He has put on some size, his in ring remains great, and he has one of the most compelling characters on AW television. This was by far the biggest win of his career thus far, and I'm really looking forward to see how AW Cree have capitalized on this win for Swerve. Swerve Strickland defeats the Hangman. If you had told me a year ago that Swerve strictly would be a bigger star in AW than Keith Lee, I would have said, you're nuts. But that's where we're at right now. Like Swarve, this was a fantastic match and had me into it. I loved the contrast in Hangman kind of having to play the heel because they're here in Seattle, Prince Nana as have fun watching him dance the entire the entire match and everything else. Just a fantastic match. And then just the elevation of Swerve just shows how much faith they have in him right now, because you don't give victories or a former aw world champion very often if you're kind of the quote unquote mid card guy, and Swerve got it done. So kudos those guys. It was. It was a damn damn good match. We did not predict the next one here is Ricky Starks

22:21 defeats Wheeler. You'd it was announced. I believe on collision, good match. Ricky Starks remains on fire. I do love the Big Bill Ricky Starks pairing as it reminds me of an HBK Diesel pairing. Ricky Stark's work wins again Doctor Trey and defeats Wheeler Da so as Stark's a heel again ers you a baby face because I'm still confused on what Blackpool Combat Club is, so I think they're back as babyfaces. I can understand the confusion though, yes, okay, because there wasn't. It wasn't really because even in the backstage segment you had kind of come came off as a dick. So it's still a little confusing, but uh, really good match. I love Moxley. Moxley on commentary. Saved Youda in this match because he kept saying like, hey, this is Youa's first pay per view match as singles match. I don't care if he wins or loses. It's all about building him up for five years from now. So it was a way of Moxley saving the character of Wheeler DA in a losing effort to Ricky Starks and I like Ricky, but I think he's got to put on a little bit more size. He's got to get on the Sward Strickland die. He's got to put on about twenty four pounds of muscle to do. It'll be a main eventor I actually have a note about Moxley on commentary For the next match, here is Brian Daniel Danielson defeats Zach Saber Junior. We both had Danielson get in the victory here. It was a technical wrestling masterpiece that was expected between these two greats and they delivered. I hope Dragons ZSJ do it again sometimes soon. Sidebar and this entire thing. Moxley surprisingly great on commentary for both Starks and DA

23:51 and Danielson ZSJ. But this match was phenomenal. Doctor Treys. Danielson defeats ZSJ. I have a note on commentary for this one as well, But yeah, fantastic match. It was everything I thought it would be. I love Zach Saber Junior's blonde hair. I don't know that's a recent thing or fairly since he left his last stable there. It's it's like he went to the Cody Roads. He went to the barbershop and said give me the Cody Roads and that's what they were like, Okay, yeah, we can tell you do that. So and I love the pairy with TMDK because I'm a big fan of those guys. So over like fantastic match. Commentary wise, if you're listening to commentary, is are they setting up Nigel to potentially get back in during with Brian Dangleson, Nigel has been pushing that he wants one more match with Danielson, and he's been pushing that a lot on commentary.

24:45 I would imagine it's happening because according to reports and I think his own like Instagram, Nigel is training to become a wrestler again at the very least, or to wrestle at the very least put him put him as the mouthpiece for TMDK eight, you know, like that at the very least on me. Well, if they're there regularly, right, Yeah, so if they're gonna be around, put Nigel with them or let you know, if Will Ospray's with Don Kallis slide Ozzie open over them as well and just put them all together, like all the all the Australians and British go to Nigel. That should be the rule. And I could literally if you just took ex Caliber out of the broadcast move of that one, I could literally just listen to Nigel and John Moxley go back and forth. They were great. It was good. It was really freaking good. Yeah, commentary on this entire show overall, outside of Taz screw some stuff up and Nigel calling them on it which actually made it entertaining. H was really really good the entire night.

25:40 So yeah, no, they they were great. I love the aw commentary teams because they sound like they're having like a lot of fun. Like they always cracked me up. The Taz Shavanni excliber one always cracks me up. I just think it's it's very hard to do because they keep changing out people. Yes, you know, your rotate Savanni, Tazz and Jay Are. It's not easy to get in a rhythm and for that going on, those guys did a fantastic job. I mean it made leonary for what five and a half hours, So yes, yes, it was Yeah. The don Colls family, Kenoso Get Takeshka Samy of Arnwell, Osprey defeat Christ Jericho and the Golden Lead of Kenny Omegan Cooto Obushi in a trios match. We both had the don Kal's family winning. This match is really good until the finish when it took forever for the interference spots, only for Don Cows to roll out of the ring in eyesight of the ref and Osprey being able to hold off Coda and Omega while Takeshka was doing nothing to preserve the pin to the very slow three count, which is typically a reserve for injured refs, which Aubrey was not for the end, ninety five percent of this match was great.

26:45 The final five percent was not. Don Kalle's Family wins. Doctor Trey. You know, for all the time a couple of weeks ago about the the Mockley Phoenix missed three count spot, Aubrey Edwards is the worst referee in aw WHOA, she's she's got awful like she like the rep's job is to not be noticeable, and she is. In every match she does something, whether it's like in this match, the kicking the with the when they're doing the four way stretch on the abdominal stretch with the Don Couch family and she runs in to kick the arm and then all that stuff. She's always noticeable, like she's just not good. I mean, the at least the women in it WW the two Feopble reference they have there don't typically get involved.

27:33 So but this match that he said, I love, this match I thought was really good, really, you know, top notch, but yeah, the finishes weird and I literally, as will Osprey is holding two grown men with one arm each from getting into the ring, I went, well, I did tell Jeff about four years ago, if will Osprey put on about thirty pounds of muscle, he'd be a main event guy. And will Osprey's just showing off. They put on thirty pounds of muscle. Takeshka. Man, he's he's he can be so good, but he's still green. And you see it in a couple of spots in that match where right there Ospra has to cover for him not being there to hold a leg or you know, the finish, when he's just kind of hunched over in the corner waiting for something to happen, waiting for Cal's interfere. It's just like, you know, he's gonna be a he's gonna be a huge star. The guy's gonna be a potential. You know, if he goes back to New Japan, he'll be a new Japan heavyweight champion. But right now he's still a little raw, and when you got everybody else in there, it kind of shows out. But sorry, the matter with me was saman Gavar. It's a shame he got apparently concussed during that match, but even celebrating wise, you couldn't sell he was concussed because he was still making jokes and everything else. So just top match match is a little clunky on the finish. Next rat year was FTR defeating Ossi Open and retaining aw World Tag Team Championship. Both an FTR again the victory great tag match. I thought This was a statement match for OSSI Open to the American audience at they are a great tag team, as they seem to lead most of the match and looked poised to beat FTR. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did it all in because I think you're right yeap, So here's a cool spot, Like I love the match, but then when it came to the fish, I'm like, wait, did I just kind of see this match it all in? Like it was almost copy and paste for a lot of a lot of the spots for FTR Ozie Open look great, which tells me that FTR is very a very giving tag team that they'll whoever they're the ring with, they're gonna make them look like stars. So great perforce for Ossie Open. I hope you know, Mark Davis gets back soon because it just sucks we have a breakout match and then you break your wrists because then you might get shows the pretty deadly syndrome, you know, like you're getting a push and then one guy gets injured and then you're just off TV for a while.

Well, we just saw that the Young Bucks match. There's a lot of the similarity between this match and the Young Bucks match. But that match was fantastic. So if you're on copy something that's fantastic, it's probably gonna be fantastic again. So there you go. Next match was Christian Cage defeating Darby Allen in a two out of three falls match to retain the aw t NT Championship. We both had Christian Cage getting the victory. Very entertaining, compelling match. The falls made a ton of sense that they and they played to each wrestaureran on how they were executed, from Darby using the turtleneck to outsmart Christian, to Christian's count out victory, and then finally Nick Wayne turning on Darby for the final three. It was an all around great match and the finish of Adam Edge Copeland making his AW debut was really well executed, but more on him on a bit in a bit here, doctor Trey, your thoughts here. Christian Cage defeats Darby to retain you forget sometimes how good Christian Cage can beat her right match, and I'm like, man, like, this is so much of his time in WW mix with what he wants in you in a ring like typical traditional wretches. The wrestling matches don't get the turtle deck spots, you know, but it made sense in this avenue. You know, you don't get that. The brutality of those moves on the steps.

I think so a little bit like they should have done the little like Cage in the ring Nick within there explaining what he did. Give a little more. I mean, I know on commentary they try to explain it how like Darby trained at his dad's school and Nick grew up watching Derby in there, and they tried to allude to, you know, Christian being the father figure now for Nick with him not having one. I know they try to cover, but it'd be nice to hear from the horse's mouth and give a little more depth, even if it's just Christian doing it for him. You know, to me, this is really reminiscent of you know, I think I told you off air like last week about this where I kind of felt like Nick would turn because Christian Cageon needed a new jungle boy. You know, you need that young guy to kind of mold into your own image. And by god, Nick Wayne could fit the Christian character to a t if this is the career path he wants to go. Hopefully, they addressed it on Rampage or Collision, so they still have a lot of programming to do this, but

I was at a four point too. This is actually my one of my more favorite AW papers. There really wasn't a outside of the pre show. There really wasn't a clunker match on here. And maybe it's because almost every single match featured a former ww guy leading the match in some way outside But my match of the night, my surprise you. I gave it to Swerve and Adam Page, Like, I just really loved that match, and and can we get all the Adams onto one tag team and just call him like the Adam Smashers or you know, the three man Adams or something of that coming in. Whether there's Cole Copeland Page, Am I missing any of the other Adams, Ali, Alex Abrahontes, Yeah he's not. He's not an Adam though, but we just Adam because he's an Alex. Oh, okay, just changed his name to Adam Adam Abrahontes after this, there's a lot of there's a lot of Adams in this company right now, and Alex Marvaz Ah yeah, and then or you do Brian Cage and Christian Cage. True.

Sometimes I pay attention to what we do here. Here you go, Yeah, highest rated awshow. It was a very, very solid, good show from all Elite Wrestling this past Sunday night. The big news coming out of the show, Doctor Trey was the debut of Adam Edge Copeland. We talked about this a couple of weeks back after Adam Copeland, It's gonna be weird saying this now had his final match in w again Seamous on SmackDown, celebrating twenty five years.

35:44 There's a lot of rumors in reports suggesting that he was on his way to awwfelt he was on his way to AWAW felt he was on his way to AW. We discussed it at the time. We were not in favor of the idea. We felt that Adam Copeland was a guy edge needed to stay in wa well with one appearance and then watching the post media scrum, the post show media scrum, reading a couple of interviews he's done, watching some more videos exclusives, and reading his tweets. This was the right move for Adam Copeland. I am not a person who is a tribalistic fan of wrestling where I'm on team WE I hate AW, or I'm on team AW and I hate WE. I like both companies equally. I do think that there are some wrestlers that are just AW stars and WE stars, and they should have remained with those companies. I did think that Adam Copeland was one of those people. I am wrong. You hear what he had to say.

36:50 He has nothing but amblicable and nice things to say about his time in WE. He felt that he and w WE had outgrown one another creatively, that AW spoke to him more, and it gave him an opportunity to wrestle with his friends and be with people that he has never wrestled with. Have a blank canvas and whenever you hear Adam Colplan speak like it's legitimate, it's authentic, and it's just rejuvenating to hear, because you don't hear many people say that, and his radiation on the screen of how exciting it was was that he was really really spoke to me as a fan, and you can't do nothing more than just be excited and happy for him, Doctor Trey. And I mean, I think I've always kind of underappreciated Edge as a whole.

37:38 I've never been a huge Edge guy, But the more I've seen him over these last couple of years, you really start to appreciate him, especially being the fact that he was away for almost ten years. I'm super excited for him, Doctor Trey. I think this was a great pickup for AW. It is a pickup that can fill the void of what CM punk was potentially supposed to do with AW and and b uh somebody that can can be a leader in a locker room and be a sounding board for the company and also represented proudly on television each week. This, to me, is is the perfect move for both AW and Adam Copeland. Adam Copeland is all elite doctor try Yeah, So like from an AW perspective, it's a great move.

38:27 It immediately fills the CM punk boy and you're filling it with somebody who I have never heard anybody really say a bad word about Edge. No, it all my years of wrestling, you know, and fandom and then being in the business a little bit like, No, he's ever had a bad word to say. I mean literally, like there are other there Edge and Christian's best other best friend of sind body who comes to Rocket City quite frequently, and I mean, you've never heard a bad thing about those guys. Edge is the consummate professional, Like he understands you don't Burnbridge hell, you know, when he's sixty five, he may want that WW Legends deal. So you don't say anything bad. You don't say anything bad about the burn Bridges.

39:08 From a personal aspect for Adam Copeland, it's a great move. Like we just said, Christian Cage is like, you know, lifelong best friend FTR are his best friends. Uh. Like I was laughing about it as I watched the show, because you know, you and I were talking about like CMFTR when Pug was I'm like, okay, cool. Now we get rated FTR or ft rated R, like we get some kind of combination of that. That'll be fun. Yeah, getting to work with Jericho and Omega, all these guys that, all these Canadians you know that he's either been friends with, been into business with, or helped kind of mold, you know, is great for him. I'm not entirely sold on AW bookings, so I always say this, I'm cautious. This is one of our great catchphrases here. I'm cautiously optimistic about how they book edge in AW. Like some of the people have come over WWE that we were super excited about, thought they'd get a great opportunity, have kind of fallen by the wayside, and then we get other people that shine. I'm causually optimistic that he'll get a great push, that he'll get a great run. God knows, there's seventy five titles in AW, so he'll probably have one within three weeks.

40:20 But from a personal level, which is what wrestling really does come down to, this is the best move for him personally, for his career and for the next you know, like he said, for eight twelve years, for as long as he wants to be wrestling, this is the best spot for him. I'm with you. I thought the same thing there. It's creatively with AW. It can be hit or missed sometimes they are hitting on all strides and it's a lot of fun, and then there's times where it's like, man, they've kind of forgotten about this angle in the storyline. I guess the saving grace here, Doctor Trey is and correct me if I'm wrong if you feel otherwise. When it comes to AW Creative right now, he is injecting himself into to what is, in my opinion, probably the number one best storyline in AW right now with Christian Cage, which is or as Nick Wayne Darby Alenstin whoever like this is to me, I think this is some of the best stuff they're doing. I think it has surpassed the MJF Adam Cole stuff because of Adam Cole's injury. But I would say that the saving grace here is, while I agree with you on the AW Creative Edge, is entering into maybe the best creative storyline in all lead wrestling right now.

41:30 Uh. I will say, yes, the Adamical injury dampened the better than You Babe storyline. I think we're for guys like you and me. The interjecting himself into the Cage derby Nick Wayne storyline is great because we have history like you know, if Edge and Christian Cage are working together, it's going to be good because they've got twenty years of proof that it'll be good and it'll be entertaining. I mean, hell, we can go back. I can. Is the Edge Christian show still around that we can watch on Peacock, you know, I think it is. That is such an underrated, amazing show on the network. But just the fact that you can go see their comedic timing and how well everybody else played off of them and went along with their stuff, and Edge lends instant credibility to any storyline if he goes to two. Like if if MGVIND walked out and said, hey, I got somebody to night to help me since Adam Cole's out and Edge had come out to be mjf's partner in that match against the Righteous and interjected himself into the storyline with MGF and Adam Cole. You and I've been like, oh my god, that's it, Adam Adam Copeland, mgf's a dream match, Adam Copland, Adam Cole, that's a dream match. We probably would have felt very similar, but the fact that it's Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, you get that extra layer of credibility built onto it to even hype it up even more. I thought there was an interesting point made by Edge resa they had outgrown one another he and w w WA. Do you do you

Because when you look back at the creative for Edge, since he's come back right, very intermittent here and there, comes off like a part time star because he was booked that way and his contract, I'm guessing was that way at a certain amount of dates, and then he wants to go to aw and work a full time schedule, which is kind of strange because it's like, okay to them, why didn't you do that? In w WA? Is he right? Do you think did he and w WE outgrow one another? Because I feel like they kind of have taken him for granted ever since Wrestle Many thirty eight or Wrestle at thirty nine closed out back in his match of the Hell of Sell match with with Finn Ball, or maybe they knew he was on his way out. I just felt like it was it was a weird ending and maybe weird creative for some time with Edge. I think on one hand, they looked at it and went, we've had ed and Rowan reigns. We've had Edge and seth Rawlins, We've had Edge and Finn Balor, We've had Edge and Randy Orton. There maybe in their minds there wasn't enough people deserving of the EDGE rub, so to speak. And we've seen this with We saw it with Page, we saw with Daniel Bryan. With the people who are coming back from like long term injuries, they don't put them on a full time schedule. They do put them on a part time or not at all type schedule, and then when they go to AW, they wrestle way more frequently. So I think Edge's limited usage in WW is more health related and the W doctor is kind of

I guess I don't want to say safety beause that makes it sound like AW is not safe, but let's wear and tear and kind of kind of like in the NBA where Lebron will take four nights off to come back and play a big game, you know on the weekend, you know you want to save him for the playoffs. I kind of feel like W did that with Edge, where they were saving him for the big sp and using even those roles where AW can look at and go, Hey, we can put you on Dynamite Collision. If you want to be on Rampage, We'll put you on Rampage. Hell if we stop another YouTube show, we'll put you on there. Like they're going to maximize on the value that Adam Copeland brings. Where WB has so much value built in, they don't need an Adam Copeland where I think AW given the cmpunk situation, desperately needed a guy of Adam Copeland's name value to bring in. I think it's a great move also just and like we talked about earlier. To me, it's the professionalism and the mindset that Adam Copeland has where everybody that roster's gonna love the guy. Like like I said, you never heard anybody say a bad thing about Adam Copeland in all that time in WWE, where he can come in and he can fit in with anybody on this rostery He's got you know, for all the X we guys. He's got store backstorylines built in for all the young guys. It's similar to what they were going to see him punk. You know, he can fit across all the boards. And the other thing is he's another great recruiter.

This is a great counter for Jade and Cody. I was recently just thinking about that. We'll get to preview and w fast line preview predictions. Hem romentarily. I was just thinking recently, like I was watching Dynamite and it was that opening segment with with Renee, Omega, Jericho and Edge, and I'm sitting there and I'm like, and I thought this the night before too, when I was listening to Nigel on commentary. There are so many people that w we have let walk that are so talented and it makes you really scratch your head because I'm listening to Nigel do commentary and I'm thinking to myself like why why was he just you know, why wasn't he elevated for NXC when it was him Mari, ernardlo And and Beth Phoenix like that was a really good commentary team, even Percy Percy Watson, Like why was he relegated to I think like two of five Live at the end and

Renee backstage, It's like, why why isn't she working the microphone in raw or smack Down or hosting the show for w A. All these talented stars, Danielson, Adam Cole, Edge, like all these guys like what why, why would you leave w or why would w WE let you leave? But I think all those people have made the right career decisions by going all lead wrestling, And it just made me like scratching my head a little bit. I had just like this moment of clarity on Sunday for a little bit and then watching the show on Wednesday's time, and I'm like, there are so many talented people that w was like, all right, we're ready to move on from you that have been so much more successful now in all lea wrestling. Swarre Strickland is another one, Like what Swarve Strickland has been one of my favorite wrestlers this year's He's on the rise. There's so much upside there, Like why why couldn't w W figure this out? I don't know, just a weird, weird little thought that went through my head. Doctor Trey Well as I've been watching AW last couple of days, but I was like, man, WW really fun up with some of these guys and girls. It to me is a little bit of a you're a Northeastern guy. It's a little bit of Bill Belichick mentality. In w W they'd rather let a guy leave too early than too late. I'm also a Packers fan, so I'm used to that, I know, but it's a little bit of like, hey, you know, do we hang on to these guys and basically milk them for everything they have?

49:22 And we've seen them do that back in the nineties and they kind of backfired. And I think Vince and you know the other higher ups have just been conditioned to, hey, we're you know, let's keep building on the future, keep building in the future, and then it ends up happening. If you get a show, you're like, crap, we got to bring in a Sena or a Lessner or somebody like that, just because maybe the our younger guys don't have the name value. But you know, with aw once again, it's a much You also look at the travel schedule for some of the stuff with some of these older guys, like, you know, could they keep up working three hundred and twenty or three hundred days of year and actually I think he's probably down about two fifty, but eight w works one hundred and twenty. You know, it's still a you know, half the schedule for this, you're roughly the same amount of pay. You know, if you're an older guy, why wouldn't you make the jump. And for all the successes that they these guys have had, you know, we mentioned I mentioned the b show. Keith Lee's on the pre show. You know, this is a guy that you and I like. This Gid was a guy that was punching Roman Reigns in the face at Survivor series just a couple of years ago. And we all have to be a ban event star.

50:25 And he's on the pre show of AW had an inter gender eight man tag match. No Mirror on this show, No Malachi Black on the show, now Idelo on this show. So for all the successes we've had, we've also seen it, you know, like Robert Strong's in a great storyline, but Bobby Fish is already out of the company, you know, like and Kyler Riley's been hurt for the last year, it seems like. So for all the great successes, there are still some people that can't find their way. So I think W takes educated bets on what's somebody will do, and that is up to those guys to either follow through and increase their value or kind of spread water and fall by the wayside. Threw that W was right about them. Yeah, it's strange. Yeah, there are some opposite are some downs, even like Tony Storm recently, I saw her on television like Matt highly entertaining, but maybe they need a company like AW do unlock that creativity. It's strange. It makes you think a little bit. Some people do really well on the landscape, some people do really well in the AW landscape. Some people do really well in both landscapes. I fully expect that Adam Edge Copeland will do very well in All Lead Wrestling. It's a great signing, it's a great move. I'm very excited for Adam Copeland and really look forward to see this run in All Lead wrestling. Let's wrap up this week's edition of the show with the w W Fastlane preview predictions. That's one thing here. Let's take a quick pause. Aw, if they're doing twelve shows a year or more, they have got to lower the time on these cards. It's it's way too fucking long, Doctor Trey. Well, I mean, then again, you can look at it. WW is basically running NXT and a pay per view every single month. You're still kind of getting about the same amount of time. They're just splitting it up over two weekends. Well, I mean NXC just ran the show this past weekend, and then then our next show is in early December, so I wouldn't say it's like every month.

I just don't see how you have l A Knight and Johnson to lose this match because Roman's not in it, and this also sets up tension with Romans Solo and Jimmy if you want to go that route. So I'll take uh, Sina Knight Night, Sena Night moves that you can't see me at night? Oh, I like you can't see night. Yeah, I'm gonna take Johnson and l A Knight as well. Uh. And then Seth Freaking Rollands takes on Shin to say knock amore in a last man standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
